                         de fot{\^o}metro multicanal em S{\~a}o Jo{\~a}o do Cariri 
                         (7,5ºS, 35ºO) foram usadas na investiga{\c{c}}{\~a}o da 
                         din{\^a}mica de oscila{\c{c}}{\~o}es de escala planet{\'a}ria 
                         da regi{\~a}o da alta mesosfera e baixa termosfera equatorial e 
                         de baixas latitudes do hemisf{\'e}rio sul. Medidas adicionais de 
                         ventos horizontais obtidos com radar MF em Adelaide (35ºS, 138ºE), 
                         Austr{\'a}lia, e atrav{\'e}s de radar mete{\'o}rico em Jakarta 
                         (6,4ºS, 106,7ºE), Indon{\'e}sia, foram usados na 
                         compara{\c{c}}{\~a}o e confirma{\c{c}}{\~a}o dos movimentos 
                         ondulat{\'o}rios. Os resultados das an{\'a}lises dos ventos de 
                         Cachoeira Paulista revelaram a presen{\c{c}}a de 
                         oscila{\c{c}}{\~o}es de escala planet{\'a}ria em v{\'a}rias 
                         ocasi{\~o}es durante o per{\'{\i}}odo considerado. Dentre as 
                         oscila{\c{c}}{\~o}es identificadas nos ventos, as 
                         manifesta{\c{c}}{\~o}es com per{\'{\i}}odos pr{\'o}ximos de 
                         2, 6,5, 10, e 16 dias foram interpretadas como devidas a 
                         atividades de ondas planet{\'a}rias, as quais exibiram maior 
                         concentra{\c{c}}{\~a}o durante os equin{\'o}cios de primavera e 
                         nos solst{\'{\i}}cios de ver{\~a}o. Em geral, os 
                         par{\^a}metros das ondas deduzidos das an{\'a}lises mostraram 
                         consist{\^e}ncia com aqueles obtidos em outras localidades. 
                         Acoplamentos n{\~a}o lineares entre a mar{\'e} diurna e ondas de 
                         per{\'{\i}}odos longos e, entre ondas planet{\'a}rias, foram 
                         evidenciados. Varia{\c{c}}{\~o}es de 2 dias nas medidas da 
                         aeroluminesc{\^e}ncia mostraram-se compat{\'{\i}}veis com a 
                         onda de quase-dois-dias. ABSTRACT: Measurements of the horizontal 
                         winds carried out by meteor radar at Cachoeira Paulista (22.7ºS, 
                         45ºW), from April 1999 to April 2002, and measurements of the 
                         OI(557,7), O2(0,1), e OH(6-2) airglow emissions at S{\~a}o 
                         Jo{\~a}o do Cariri (7.5ºS, 35ºW), from January 1998 to December 
                         2001, were used to study atmospheric planetary scale oscillations 
                         in the upper mesosphere and low thermosphere (MLT) region at 
                         equatorial and lower latitudes in southern hemisphere. Additional 
                         measurements of horizontal winds obtained by MF radar at Adelaide 
                         (35ºS, 138ºE), Australia, and by meteor radar at Jakarta (6.4ºS, 
                         106.7ºE), Indonesia, were also used to compare and confirm the 
                         presence of planetary perturbations. The winds analysis showed 
                         presence of planetary oscillations in several occasions during the 
                         considered time at Cachoeira Paulista. The periodic perturbations 
                         with periods of around 2-, 6.5-, 10-, e 16-days were interpreted 
                         as planetary waves, which exhibited larger concentration during 
                         the spring equinoxes and in the summer solstices. Consistency 
                         between the wave parameters from Cachoeira Paulista winds and 
                         other sites were obtained. Nonlinear interactions between diurnal 
                         tides and planetary waves and between planetary wave modes were 
                         observed. The study also suggested that quasi-two-day variations 
                         observed in the airglow intensities should have the same origin as 
                         that of the wind oscillation in the equatorial region.",
